What We Saw (2025)
Whether it is invoking the the benevolence of an invisible and unknowable god or summoning the forces of Nature through engineering and ingenuity, humans have always wanted to access, harness and control power. This pairing of black-and-white photographs explores the tension and continuity between spirituality and industry—two forces that shape how we connect, consume, and understand power, both metaphorical and real.
One image suggests a longing for connection beyond the rational—a surrender to mystery that feels like a return to something ancient and intuitive—an animistic spirituality that sees spirit in all living forms. The other speaks to the systems we’ve built to command and harness the world around us. Here, power is literal: electricity coursing unseen, distributed through infrastructure most of us overlook but entirely depend on.
